We understand that providing consistent, nutritious food for your family can sometimes be a challenge. At Hawkins County Schools, we want to help carry that burden. Our Child Nutrition team is dedicated to supporting your student's academic success by ensuring they never have to learn on an empty stomach.

Second Harvest Food Distribution Tuesday, October 28. Cherokee High School in the football field parking log from 10:00am to 10:45am. Volunteer High School in the football field parking lot (enter on Volunteer Blvd.) from 1pm to 2pm. No preregistration necessary.

Parents, please be advised that we are dealing with a phone system outage affecting some Hawkins County Schools and our Central Office. This issue is affecting others in our region as well. Please utilize email if you need to reach school personnel during this time.

Friday, October 17th is picture make-up day at MCES. If you child wasn't here for picture day or you want their picture retaken they can have it done on Friday. Make sure child's teacher is aware you want your child's picture retaken.

Our next attendance challenge will start Monday. Students who are present the entire week will be entered in for amazing drawings each week!

MCES is honored to announce that we are once again identified by the Tennessee Department of Education as a level 5 school! We are a level 5 (highest level) for literacy, numeracy, and our lowest 25% performing students. This means that we are growing students in all areas and at all levels. We are beyond proud of each of our staff members and our students!

Help your student's homeroom earn popcorn and pajamas in September. Every time homeroom classes have 100% attendance they earn a piece of popcorn on their door. When the homeroom collects 10 piece of popcorn they earn popcorn and pajamas for the day!

Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon!

Save the date - all students will have their picture made on August 21st. Students will be sent home a proof and you can order after pictures are taken. Pre-K students that are not schedule on Thursdays can come in to have their picture made between 8:00 - 10:00.

Attached is the order form for Wildcat gear! We will have paper copies at open house and the parent meetings this week, however if you would like be prepared and have it filled out ahead of time you may. All items are pre-orders only but we will have sample t-shirts at the events for you to view to determine sizing.

Public Notice - Our Private School and notice for disabilities meeting is scheduled for April 17, 2025 at 9:00A.M. at the Special Education Building, 200 North Depot St. Rogersville, TN. The Hawkins County School District can receive designated funds each year by the federal government to provide service once agreed upon to students who are eligible to receive special education services. These services include students who are currently being homeschooled or attend a private school in Hawkins County and are eligible for Special Education. The Hawkins County district is required to meet with the administrators of private institutions or parents who are currently home schooling their children in order to discuss what services can be provided. The Hawkins County School District can provide services for special needs children and young adults, age 3 years to 21 years, who reside within the system's district. If you have or know children who are currently not being served, please contact the Hawkins County Special Education Department at 423-272-7629 Ext. 2405

Voluntary Pre-K is available to children whose birthdays fall between August 16, 2020 and August 15, 2021. Spaces are limited and income qualifications apply. Additional inclusive early childhood opportunities are available for preschoolers who do not meet the income requirements.
